Job summary

Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME is seeking a Security Officer to monitor the healthcare environment, prevent security incidents, and deescalate situations as they arise. With appropriate training, the role may involve protective services and patient restraints as needed by medical staff.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, access to CPI or equivalent training, and BLS certification with timely completion.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. If appropriate for location, must obtain IAHSS certification within one year of hire required.
• License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Valid Driver's license if required at local Health System. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or similar to be completed within local Health System requirements. Completion of HIC 100, 200, and 700 if required by facility.
• Experience: Relevant experience in hospital safety and security preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the healthcare environment to help prevent security incidents and deescalate incidents as they emerge.
• May provide protective services and, with sufficient training, patient restraints as deemed necessary by medical staff.
