Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff, and visitors across hospital facilities in Goodyear, AZ. The role involves patrols, rapid response to emergencies, and enforcing safety protocols during Thurs/Fri and Sat/Sun shifts.

Applicants should have 1–3 years of security experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Arizona driver’s license. Basic Life Support certification is required within 1 month of hire.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of security-related experience.
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 1 month of hire.
• Valid Arizona state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients, visitors, and staff upon request.
• Protect patients, caregivers, visitors, vendors, and hospital property.
• Conduct preventive patrols and maintain a visible security presence, including night patrols.
• Patrol hospital grounds and parking lots to identify threats or safety concerns.
• Be part of rapid response team and respond to security emergencies within the hospital.
• Escalate to local authorities if patients become violent or threaten others.
• Assist in external emergencies following the Emergency Management Plan.
• Provide directions and escort hospital guests to vehicles upon request.
• Assist with jump-starting vehicles when needed.
• Maintain safety, security, and courteous customer service.
• Enforce COH rules and regulations as a primary responsibility.
