MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to protect people and property and enforce hospital policies. This role emphasizes vigilance, de‑escalation, and safe handling of contraband while using security equipment on campus.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, valid WA/ID driver’s license, IAHSS certification within 1 year, and healthcare security experience. BLS and First Aid within 30 days of hire are required.

Formación

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Current Washington or Idaho state driver’s license.
• IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire date.
• Minimum six months of experience in police, military, or security, preferably in a health care setting.
• Proof of a safe driving record obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state.
• BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• First Aid training within 30 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct general security in the protection of people and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
• Deter criminal activity and misconduct utilizing tactical techniques.
• Utilize Management of Aggressive Behavior skills both verbally and physically as required.
• Apply Awareness, Vigilance, Avoidance, Defense, and Escape concepts to protect and serve facility campus.
• Utilize weapons detection devices to monitor patients/visitors and ensure removal of contraband.
• Apply techniques with assistive devices when engaging combative individuals.
• Operate/leverage required security equipment and tools.
