Job summary

Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, WA is seeking a Security Officer to protect MultiCare Health System properties and ensure the safety of patients, employees and visitors. You will be part of the Security Services team, upholding policies and responding to incidents with professional conduct.

The role is full-time, day shift with a variable schedule; requires a high school diploma, IAHSS certification or ability to obtain within one year, and safety certifications (BLS/First Aid within 30 days).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Minimum 6 months security/military/police experience, healthcare preferred.
• BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• First Aid training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct general security to protect people and property and enforce policies.
• Deter criminal activity using tactical techniques.
• Use awareness, vigilance, and defense concepts to protect the campus.
• Operate security devices and respond to incidents and contraband.
• Engage with combative individuals using appropriate techniques and aids.
• Maintain and operate security equipment as required.
