The position requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and completion of IA HSS Basic Certification within one year, plus CPI Level 4, OCAT, PPCI PATH, and CPR/AED training within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must complete the IA HSS Basic Certification Program within one year of employment.
• Must possess a valid State driver’s license.
• Must complete PPCI PATH, OCAT, and Defensive Tactics within six months of employment.
• Must complete Crisis Prevention Institute CPI Level 4 - Advanced Physical Skills training within six months of employment.
• Must complete basic CPR AED certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas, monitoring the facility to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Participate in pre- and post-shift briefings to stay current on security events.
• Document daily activity and security responses via a daily log.
• Respond to Security requests to resolve emergencies and investigate suspicious activity.
• Investigate, document, and resolve security incidents; report abuses of hospital property.
• Respond to intra-facility alarms and condition codes as required.
• Conduct regular security checks and audits of Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health properties.
• Monitor hospital premises, grounds and parking facilities for security concerns.
