Job summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health LGH is seeking a part-time Security Officer for evening and weekend shifts to safeguard patients, staff, and visitors at the campus. You will patrol facilities, monitor activity, and respond to alarms and incidents with professional judgment.

The role requires completing essential certifications within specified timeframes, maintaining logs, and coordinating with Nursing Supervisors and Security Supervisors to ensure a safe environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must complete IAHSS Basic Certification within 1 year of employment.
• Must possess a valid State driver’s license.
• Must complete PPCI PATH, OCAT, and Defensive Tactics within six months.
• Must complete Crisis Prevention Institute CPI Level 4 - Advanced Physical Skills training within six months.
• Must complete basic CPR AED certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Take part in pre-shift and post-shift briefings to stay current with security events.
• Document daily activity and security responses in logs.
• Respond to security requests to resolve emergencies and incidents.
• Investigate, document and resolve security-related incidents.
• Respond to alarms and condition codes as required.
• Conduct regular security checks and audits of LGH properties and grounds.
• Monitor parking areas and traffic flow on Lancaster General property.
• Suggest methods to improve security operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
