Job summary

Harrisburg Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer I to protect staff, patients, visitors and property on hospital campuses and off-site properties. The role requires reacting calmly in emergencies, patrolling facilities, and assisting with incident command and safety procedures.

Certification and training are part of the path from Level I to higher levels. Effective communication, integrity, and a courteous demeanor are essential as you document incidents and support a secure environment

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent required.
Basic computer skills and ability to document incidents clearly.
Ability to read and write detailed incident reports.
Calm, professional interaction with staff, patients, and the public.
Maintain integrity and confidentiality in all security matters.

Responsibilities

Serve as a visible security presence to deter disturbances and maintain safety.
Respond quickly to emergencies and incidents on hospital campuses and off-site properties.
Assist in incident command situations, managing duress alarms and conflicts.
Monitor security systems and enforce access control and parking regulations.
Prepare accurate incident reports and coordinate with authorities as needed.
