Job summary

UPMC Northwest Hospital in Seneca, PA is hiring a Full-Time Security Officer to join our team. In this important role, you’ll help provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Plus, eligible hires can receive a $1,500 sign-on bonus with a two-year work commitment. Put your experience to work with UPMC, and be part of a dedicated security team across hospital properties.

Qualifications

• PA Act 235 certification is a preferred credential.
• Background in security and/or law enforcement is encouraged.
• Shifts include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Staff fixed posts to monitor ingress and egress to secured areas.
• Provides customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels as necessary to prevent theft.
• Responds to and resolves problems, disputes and unusual circumstances as necessary.
• Maintain required certifications and licensing.
• Assist with traffic control and vehicle assists.
• Transport deceased to morgue/release bodies from morgue.
• Monitor security, fire, and environmental alarms, respond to alarms and assist when needed.
• Establish a uniformed security presence by patrolling hospital properties and contacting law enforcement when necessary.
• Conduct patient escorts and stand-by details.
• Report and document incidents, suspicious activities and hazards.
