Job summary

Highpoint Health - Riverview Regional Medical Center seeks a dedicated Security Officer to join our team in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will conduct rounds, monitor facilities, and respond to security incidents to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

The role requires Tennessee unarmed security licensure, strong communication skills, and the ability to work afternoon, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Tennessee unarmed security licensure must be obtained and maintained.
• Ability to complete state fingerprinting/background requirements and hospital pre-employment screening.
• NCI/Handle With Care training within onboarding timeframe.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, visitors and staff.
• Dependability and ability to cover afternoon, evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts.
• Ability to stay calm and exercise sound judgment during security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine security rounds to identify safety concerns.
• Perform building and door checks, verify areas are secured during evening/night hours.
• Monitor the facility and respond to security incidents or hazards.
• Provide general security assistance to staff, patients, and visitors.
• Assist with occasional bank runs and other security-related tasks.
• Provide 1:1 observation support for behavioral health patients when requested.
• Complete required 1:1 observation documentation and incident reports.
• Maintain awareness and follow emergency, alarm, safety and disaster-preparedness procedures.
• Assist staff and visitors with safety questions and directions.
