Highpoint Health - Riverview Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Security Officer. You will conduct routine rounds, secure designated areas during evenings, monitor the facility for incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with a professional presence.
Responsibilities include 1:1 observation support for behavioral health patients when needed, timely incident reporting, and following emergency procedures.

Our Security team plays an important role in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. This is a hands-on, service-focused team where you'll make an impact through proactive rounding, assisting others, and supporting the hospital's day-to-day safety needs.
ASecurity Officerwho excels in this role:
Conduct routine security rounds throughout the hospital to proactively identify safety or security concerns.
Perform regular building and door checks, including verifying designated areas are properly secured during evening and overnight hours.
Monitor the facility and respond promptly to actual or potential security incidents, hazards, or concerns.
Provide general security assistance to hospital staff, patients, and visitors while maintaining a professional and service-oriented presence.
Assist with occasional bank runs and other assigned security-related tasks.
Provide 1:1 observation support for behavioral health patients when requested.
Complete required Q15 documentation when assigned to 1:1 patient observation.
Accurately and timely document security incidents and complete required incident reports.
Maintain awareness of and follow hospital emergency, alarm, safety, and disaster-preparedness procedures.
Assist staff and visitors with safety-related questions, directions, and general support.
Complete required security, safety, Handle With Care, and facility-specific training.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, required. Additional requirements include:
Ability to obtain/maintain required Tennessee unarmed security licensure.
Ability to successfully complete applicable state fingerprinting/background requirements and hospital pre-employment screening.
NCI/Handle With Care training within the required onboarding timeframe.
Ability and willingness to complete detailed written documentation, including incident reports and patient-observation documentation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.
Dependability and ability to work assigned afternoon, evening, night, weekend, and/or holiday coverage based on the specific opening.
Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment when responding to security concerns or agitated individuals.
Previous hospital security experience.
Previous security experience in another environment.
Experience working in a healthcare, behavioral health, or other public-facing environment.
Two Full-Time openings are available with the following schedules:
Monday-Thursday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM
Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM
Saturday, 6:30 PM-7:00 AM
Sunday, 6:30 PM-7:00 AM
