Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring Flex Officers for hospital locations in Wexford, Monroeville, Clairton, Pittsburgh, and surrounding areas. This full-time role pays $19.00 per hour with up to 40 hours per week, weekend scheduling, and on-site responsibilities at hospital locations in the Pittsburgh area.

Officers support nursing staff, assist with patient safety, and may escort staff to the morgue. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement plans, weekly pay, and paid training.

Qualifications

• Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and a drug screen.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, security violations, and unauthorized individuals.
• Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite admittance to the facility.
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, or other emergencies with calm urgency.
• May include patient escort, patient watch, or transport of deceased to morgue.
