Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring Security Officers at multiple hospitals in the Pittsburgh area. The roles offer a pay rate of $17.00 to $19.00 per hour with full-time and part-time schedules.

Positions are available at Allegheny General, Allegheny Valley, Forbes, Jefferson, West Penn, and Wexford hospitals. As a Hospital Security Officer, you will patrol, screen visitors, and support nursing staff with patient safety, while responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.
• Must obtain Management of Aggressive Behavior certification after offer.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions and security violations.
• De-escalate individuals verbally and physically as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and staff to expedite admittance.
• Respond to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, or bomb threats with calm urgency.
• May assist with patient escort and transport of deceased to morgue.
