Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Security Officer to protect its facilities, patients, employees, and visitors. You will be part of the Security Services team and assume responsibility for safety across MultiCare properties.

The role supports an Evening shift (8-hour schedule) with a full-time equivalent of 1.0. Candidates should have six months of security-related experience, IAHSS/BLS or equivalent, and complete First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in police, military, or security.
• IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within one year.
• BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• First Aid training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct general security in the protection of people and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
• Deter criminal activity and misconduct utilizing tactical techniques.
• Utilize Management of Aggressive Behavior skills both verbally and physically as required.
• Apply the concepts of Awareness, Vigilance, Avoidance, Defense, and Escape to effectively protect and serve facility campus.
• Utilize weapons detection devices to monitor patients/visitors and ensuring the removal of contraband from facility.
• Apply appropriate techniques with assistive devices when engaging with combative/aggressive individuals.
• Effectively operate/leverage required security equipment and tools.
