Job summary

Franklin Hospital in Farmington, ME, is seeking a full-time Security Officer to join the team. You will help keep patients, visitors, and staff safe through patrols, incident response, and policy enforcement.

The role requires calm judgment in high-stress situations, strong communication, and reliable documentation. Training will be provided, and 18+ with a valid driver's license and CPR/BLS is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; IAHSS Basic certification within 1 year.
• Valid driver's license; BLS within 30 days; CPI/NIMS certifications as applicable.
• Prior hospital safety experience preferred; basic computer skills.
• Must be 18+; ability to respond to behavioral emergencies and assist staff.
• Preferred: strong customer service, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform proactive patrols and incident response to safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and assets.
• Enforce security policies and provide customer service in a healthcare setting.
• Assist clinical staff in managing disruptive or combative individuals using approved techniques.
• Identify and report safety and security concerns; document incidents accurately.
• Respond to emergencies and de-escalate situations as needed.
