Blessing Health System in Quincy, IL, is seeking a Security Officer for the Emergency Department to promote a safe environment by patrolling parking lots, protecting assets, and responding to security issues.

The role requires lifting, restraining combative patients, collaborating with law enforcement, attending daily ED huddles, and aligning with the hospital's mission and core values.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of hire.
• Functions quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
• Attend daily Emergency Department huddles (Emergency Department officers only).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe environment by patrolling parking lots and protecting assets.
• Respond to security issues and liaise with law enforcement and ED staff.
• Escort incarcerated patients and assist law enforcement to hospital areas as needed.
• Attend daily Emergency Department huddles for ED officers.
