Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Security Officer to protect persons and property and enforce hospital policies. The role supports staff and patients, with rotating shifts and a 32-hour full-time schedule.

Responsibilities include patrolling, responding to incidents, and assisting staff with difficult individuals, ensuring safety across the campus. A high school diploma and state Guard cards are required, with prior security experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• All state licensing requirements including permanent Guard cards.
• Six months+ of private security, law enforcement or relevant military experience preferred.
• Knowledge of PC-based applications in a Windows environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to think quickly in crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Provides for safety and security of patients, visitors and staff on hospital campus.
• Assists staff with difficult or combative individuals, potentially joining a Restraint Team as directed by medical staff.
• Patrols facilities and grounds, reports incidents and protects hospital property.
