Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Security Officer for 2nd shift to safeguard and patrol hospital property, assist visitors and staff, and monitor alarms and cameras. The role includes weapon screening at entrances and clear communication with the health system team.

Qualified candidates will have at least HS diploma, 2+ years security experience preferred, and a valid driver's license. SORA certification is preferred and benefits are provided for full-time colleagues.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years security experience preferred.
• NJ Security Officers Registration Act (SORA) certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard, patrol, and monitor buildings, grounds, and property to protect lives and property and prevent theft or vandalism.
• Assist visitors, patients, vendors, and staff with information and directions.
• Conduct weapon screening at public entrances using approved technology and monitor alarms and cameras.
• Escalate emergencies to law enforcement as needed and maintain shift logs and incident reports.
• Provide customer service and respond to emergency situations promptly.
• Monitor access control, infant protection, and the security of sensitive areas.
