Job summary

UPMC Horizon-Shenango Valley in Farrell, PA is seeking a Regular Full-Time Security Officer to safeguard staff and patients and respond to incidents across hospital facilities. This hands-on role requires de-escalation skills, the ability to manage stressful situations, and compliance with hospital security protocols.

Uniforms and duty gear are provided, and a $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Ability to de-escalate conflicts and maintain composure in stressful situations.
• Strong customer service focus supporting staff, patients and visitors.
• Proactive observation, incident reporting and adherence to security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Staff fixed posts to monitor ingress/egress and secure areas.
• Provide courteous assistance to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Inspect parcels as needed to prevent loss/theft and respond to incidents.
• Monitor alarms and coordinate with law enforcement when required.
• Maintain required certifications and licensing as applicable.
• Support traffic control and vehicle operations.
• Escort patients and provide stand-by security where needed.
• Complete mandatory training per guidelines.
• Document incidents and hazards promptly.
