Job summary

UPMC is hiring a Full-Time, Security Officer (Night Shift) to support the hospital in Harrisburg. The role requires monitoring, customer service, and maintaining a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Hours are 6:00pm–6:00am with weekend and holiday rotation.

Ideal candidates have public safety experience; you must be able to attain Act 235 if not already held. The position includes benefits and a $1500 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills to assist staff, patients, and visitors.
• Prior public safety experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Staff fixed posts to monitor ingress and egress to secured areas.
• Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff to maintain a safe environment.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels to prevent theft.
• Respond to alarms and maintain required certifications.
• Patrol UPMC hospitals, buildings, grounds to deter crime and coordinate with police.
