Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Security Officer to manage daily security operations across assigned areas in New Jersey. The role ensures safety, conducts risk assessments, and documents incidents to support hospital operations.

Responsibilities include training staff, conducting rounds, and coordinating with leadership, nursing, and law enforcement. The position requires a HS diploma and a valid driver’s license, with SORA preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in security or a comparable role.
• HS diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in training security officers.
• Educate, train and drill hospital staff on emergencies.
• Support Environment of Care rounds and Joint Commission surveys.
• Oversee posts including patrols, access control, infant protection, and weapon screening.
• Provide daily operational support to leadership and assume department operations as needed.
• Coordinate with management, nursing, security teams and law enforcement.
• Escort visitors, vendors, patients and staff; verify IDs and badges.
• Respond to maintenance issues after hours.
