Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a security officer to safeguard facilities, monitor security systems, assist visitors and staff, and respond to emergencies while upholding policy.

Responsibilities include weapon screening with EVOLV, access control, infant protection, escorts, incident reporting, and coordination with law enforcement. Requires calm under pressure and strong communication. Valid driver’s license; HS diploma; SORA preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years security experience preferred.
• Ability to stay levelheaded and respond quickly in stressful situations.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform posts, patrols, and safety rounds; monitor doors, cameras and alarms.
• Use hospital systems for visitor control and weapon screening with handheld wands and EVOLV.
• Communicate effectively with team, supervisors, Nursing Supervisor, security teams and law enforcement.
• Escort visitors, patients, staff; verify IDs and manage badges.
• Respond to CODE Security/RED, hazardous spills, and assist with equipment.
