Job summary

Corewell Health in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe and peaceful environment for patients, staff, and visitors across hospital property. Under supervision and following policy, you will protect grounds and off-site buildings and may obtain PA 330 certification to arrest for misdemeanors.

Responsibilities include patrolling campus, monitoring CCTV, responding to incidents, and coordinating with emergency services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years law-enforcement related work experience.
• Ability to take charge and direct others in emergencies or dangerous situations.
• Requires CPL license and specialized Taser training course.
• MI Driver's License upon hire.
• BLS/First Aid certifications (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus on foot or vehicle and monitor for security risks.
• Assist with post duties and help patients, visitors, and employees; enforce hospital rules.
• Operate Security Operations Center tools: monitor phones, alarms, cameras, and radios.
• Prepare and submit daily activity, incident, and logs reports; forward to managers.
• Investigate suspected crimes on hospital grounds; cooperate with law enforcement.
• Provide security escorts and assist staff, patients, or visitors as needed.
• Use de-escalation techniques to safely manage volatile situations.
• Assist nursing staff with restraints when ordered by a physician.
