Job summary

FMOL Health in Baton Rouge seeks a dedicated Hospital Security Officer to serve as the emergency First Responder and to help keep patients, visitors, and staff safe. You will work with hospital staff to address security needs and enforce policies across the facility.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, patrolling the premises, de-escalating conflicts, responding to security requests, and preparing incident reports. The role may involve carrying a registered firearm for protection.

Qualifications

• Two years of related security or law enforcement experience preferred.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Physical Readiness Assessment (PRA) required.
• Effective Communication.
• Customer Service.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, visitors and guests and provide information to help them reach destinations.
• Manage wheelchair distribution and security escorts for guests and employees.
• Patrol premises to ensure security of patients, visitors and staff.
• Address and deescalate tense situations and/or conflicts.
• Respond to security requests and coordinate with local law enforcement as needed.
• Respond to hospital emergency Codes (excluding medical codes).
• Investigate incidents and prepare written reports.
• Enforce hospital security policies and procedures.
• Serve as the hospital’s Emergency First Responders.
• Carries a registered firearm for protection and prevention of conflict.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
