Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Hospital Reference Test Clerk to join our team in Salina, KS. Work schedule: Monday‑Friday first shift.

You will prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, resolve customer and specimen problems, and release test results while assisting clients with inquiries. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least two years in a medical/clinical laboratory, plus strong attention to detail and good communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a medical/clinical laboratory.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Works independently or within a team environment.
• Well organized with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Preferred: Labcorp experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems.
• Send test requests to the proper location and release test results.
• Assist clients with specimen-related inquiries.
• Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities.
• Provide support to various areas of the laboratory.
• Perform sample sorting, racking, and retrieving.
• Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
