Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System seeks an Environmental Services supervisor to ensure efficient operations, cleanliness, quality, and service across the EVS function. You will oversee daily standards, budgeting, and collaboration with the management team to support department goals.

Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, training, SOP development, inspections, and coordinating with other hospital teams to maintain a safe, clean facility for patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of Environmental Services experience or at least 1 year at NCHS.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Able to remain calm under stressful conditions and work with colleagues to resolve problems.
• Experience supervising employees highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EVS resources and staffing; participate in hiring, promotions, and staff reviews.
• Attend meetings, train staff, and lead sessions in the manager's absence.
• Establish and review SOPs for staff per facility policy.
• Orient, coach, and supervise EVS staff across housekeeping tasks.
• Plan schedules and ensure adequate EVS services for the hospital.
• Coordinate daily EVS operations and report results to management.
• Inspect facilities and coordinate maintenance and safety with teams.
• Ensure proper timekeeping, uniforms, attendance, and adherence to guidelines.
• Participate in QA programs and efforts to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
• Support bed tracking and EVS response times; report improvement activities.
• Adhere to safety, risk management, and infection control standards.
