Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a vigilant security professional to join the Public Safety team in Cambridge, MA. The role focuses on responding to emergencies, monitoring alarms, and supporting crisis management to ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety across hospital facilities.

Responsibilities include rapid response to incidents, coordination with law enforcement, CCTV monitoring, safety observations, and accurate incident reporting in line with hospital policies and MA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred in criminal justice, law enforcement, or business management.
• 1-2 years healthcare security experience preferred; military/law enforcement or customer service background also valued.
• Valid driver’s license required; AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention Levels I-III, BLS CPR/AED, First Aid, Stop the Bleed, Naloxone certifications, and related training expected.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergencies, codes, and alarms per Public Safety Management Program and Emergency Management Policy.
• First responders to violence, civil disturbances, and other crises; provide support and de-escalation.
• Coordinate with local Police, Fire, and Emergency personnel as directed.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems; conduct safety rounds and incident reporting.
• Prepare concise incident reports and ensure timely documentation.
