Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks an Unarmed Security Officer for the Youngstown area. The role covers internal and external safety duties, responding to emergencies and supporting investigations as needed.

Daily tasks include patrolling, escorting, enforcing policies, and documenting activities. This PRN/as-needed position requires flexibility, a valid driver’s license, and completion of required trainings within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Basic word processing skills required (Microsoft Word).
• Proficiency with defensive tools and restraint equipment as per policy.
• Strong knowledge of surveillance systems and access control software.
• Experience with radio communications and incident reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients, visitors and staff; patrol grounds and monitor for hazards.
• Deterrence of criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property.
• Enforce hospital policies (parking, visitation, drugs, smoking).
• Monitor CCTV and respond to escalating situations with Protective Services involvement.
• Intervene in confrontations and document all activities in logs/reports.
