Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown is seeking a dedicated Police Officer to provide internal and external security, respond to emergencies, patrol facilities, and enforce policies to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

You will conduct investigations, support law enforcement activities, manage incidents, and complete documentation while maintaining professional appearance and adherence to EMS/security protocols. Training and licensure requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Hard/Tech/Clinical Skills: Basic Skills using Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with defensive tools and restraint equipment per healthcare regulations and policy.
• Strong technical skills in radio communication, report writing, surveillance systems, and access control software.

Responsibilities

• Patrols hospital grounds to deter crime and ensure safety.
• Responds to emergencies and incidents, including investigations.
• Enforces hospital policies and escorts patients and staff as needed.
• Documents daily activities and incident reports.
• Maintains proficiency with issued equipment and firearms.
