Job summary

Johnson Memorial Health is seeking a Plant Operations Supervisor (Maintenance) at our Franklin, IN facility. The role oversees maintenance staff, coordinates between shifts, and ensures compliance with NFPA Life Safety standards and building automation systems.

The supervisor participates in budgeting, hiring, and policy implementation to support hospital operations. The ideal candidate has at least five years in related fields with supervisory experience and a strong background in building

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least one certification in the mechanical trades.
• Knowledge of NFPA Life Safety building standards and fire equipment scheduling required.
• At least five years’ experience in related fields with some supervisory experience required.
• Strong knowledge of building automation, fire suppression, utility distribution and building management concepts required.
• Knowledge of computer concepts displaying working ability with programming, backup hardware, engineering type software applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff and assign daily workflow; coordinate between shifts.
• Review progress to ensure jobs are completed on time and properly.
• Assist in budgeting and cost-control measures.
• Maintain HRSA funding responsibilities and participate in district meetings.
• Establish program guidelines addressing function, requirements and code compliance.
• Gather data to evaluate operational parameters and keep regulatory records current.
• Manage hospital engineering management systems to ensure program continuity.
• Conduct performance planning, counseling, and disciplinary actions with Facilities Director.
• Participate in hiring processes and advise on departmental goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with Facilities Director to control project activity and provide direction.
• Liaise with Administration, Managers and external parties to resolve issues.
• Share on-call duties and conduct in-service trainings and employee meetings.
• Participate in Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance policies and the Mission and Values.
• Direct department activities in absence of Facilities Manager.
• Oversee MSDs inventory and related maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with laws and Johnson Memorial Health policies.
