Job summary

CHI Health Midlands in Nebraska seeks an Operating Engineer to independently perform journeyman-level duties for the energy plant, hospital, and equipment. Design, install, or maintain building systems ensuring safety, functionality, and occupant comfort.

Responsibilities include operating boilers, chillers, absorbers, and air handling equipment; monitoring systems; and compiling water treatment reports, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and shift incentive for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years boiler operation experience.
• NE Third Grade Station Engineer: NE, upon hire.
• Steam plant third grade engineers course (NAPE) upon hire.
• High School Graduate General Studies or GED upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates high-pressure boilers.
• Operates chillers and absorbers.
• Compiles water treatment reports.
• Performs maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps, steam pipes, and related machinery.
• Operates automated building control computer and makes corrections as required.
• Operates/adjusts air handling equipment.
