CHI Health Midlands is seeking an Operating Engineer to independently handle journeyman-level duties across the energy plant, hospital, and equipment systems. You will design, install, maintain, and optimize building systems for safety, efficiency, and occupant comfort, while monitoring and resolving operational issues.

Ideal candidates have boiler operation experience, required NE/NAPE credentials, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years boiler operation experience.
• Steam plant third grade engineers course (NAPE) required at hire.
• Third Grade Station Engineer: NE required at hire.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Operating Engineer, you will independently perform journeyman-level duties, responsible for daily operational issues concerning the energy plant, hospital, and associated equipment/systems.

Every day, you will design, construct, install, or maintain building systems and equipment, ensuring safety, functionality, efficiency, and occupant comfort. You will also monitor equipment/system problems and recommend solutions for optimal facility performance.

Success in this role requires extensive technical expertise, a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, excellent problem-solving, and autonomous work with high operational standards.

• Operates high-pressure boilers.
• Operates chillers and absorbers.
• Compiles water treatment reports.
• Performs maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps, steam pipes, and related machinery.
• Operates automated building control computer and makes corrections as required.
• Operates/adjusts air handling equipment.

We are offering a $5,000 Sign on Bonus and Shift Incentive to new hires that meet eligibility requirements

Pay Range

$22.51 - $31.79 /hour
