Job summary

Medxcel is hiring to lead and maintain complex hospital systems at Henry Ford Hospital Novi. The role focuses on operating, monitoring and maintaining critical facilities like boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical and water systems to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

You will supervise HVAC staff, coordinate maintenance tasks, and uphold safety standards while managing vendor relations and emergency response.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent -required.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License -required.
• Second Class Steam Stationary Engineer license -required.
• Third Class Refrigeration License -required.
• Licensed or Journeyman status -preferred.
• Licensure by the City of Detroit -preferred.
• Eight years related experience preferably in a healthcare facility environment -required.

Responsibilities

• Operates, monitors, and maintains complex physical plant systems (e.g., boilers, chillers, generators, HVAC, electrical and water systems) to ensure efficient hospital operations.
• Supervises and trains HVAC/mechanical staff, coordinating work assignments and ensuring safe, effective maintenance practices.
• Conducts inspections, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and preventive maintenance while maintaining accurate logs, work orders, and equipment records.
• Manages facility operations support, including vendor coordination, inventory control, system adjustments for environmental conditions, and response to emergencies such as fires or system failures.
