Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking an experienced Physician Coder to code and abstract physician services in a hospital setting. The role ensures data quality, utilizes 3M Encoder for RVU validation and collaborates with Medical Records, Finance and Physician Billing to maintain accurate information flow.

Required qualifications include RHIA/RHIT/CPC/CCS-P and working knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS, with 1–3 years of CPT/HCPCS coding experience. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, CPC or CCS-P certification required.
• Working knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding.
• Minimum 1–3 years experience in CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding.
• Experience with computerized patient records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstracts physician services using ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II and CMS guidelines.
• Ensure data quality through quarterly reviews and maintain high coding accuracy.
• Perform data entry of physician services statistics into databases.
• Collaborate with Medical Records, Finance and Physician Billing to ensure information flow.
• Provide educational sessions to medical staff on coding and documentation compliance.
