Job summary

Mountain Ridge (formerly North Suburban Medical Center) is seeking a Phlebotomy Laboratory Assistant PRN to support the Laboratory Desk, reception, and specimen procurement. You will greet outpatients, answer calls, schedule tests, and obtain blood samples while upholding safety and quality standards.

Under the Laboratory Director’s supervision, you will work with a team across departments, ensure accurate test ordering, and maintain patient-centered service in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• No travel required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory is desired, but not required.
• The Laboratory Assistant shall integrate current scientific knowledge with laboratory procedures and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet outpatients, answer the telephone, schedule appointments, and answer questions regarding test procedures and timing.
• File, print compare requests, and coordinate between departments and laboratories.
• Obtain blood specimens and provide quality service.
• Perform general laboratory duties and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
