Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist Representative I - Hospital in Pittsfield, ME. This hospital-based role involves venipuncture, patient interaction, and accurate specimen handling in a fast-paced setting.

Shifts vary from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay range is $20.00–$21.45 per hour, with eligibility for annual performance bonus based on factors including experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• Proficient phlebotomy including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and on-call shifts.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license if applicable.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service and healthcare experience preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Hospital phlebotomists may support pre-analytical lab functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all age groups.
• Accurately label and process specimens according to laboratory protocol.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy carts and work areas.
• Data entry and processing specimens including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order.
• Communicate effectively with patients, nursing staff, and lab personnel.
• Rotate through inpatient, outpatient, physicians’ offices, and ED settings as scheduled.
• Assist with training new staff or students as needed.
