Job Title

Hospital Phlebotomist – Thomas Hospital, Fairhope, AL.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday 10:30 pm – 7:00 am and rotating Saturdays.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completion of an accredited training program, or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• 1 year or more of experience in a medical laboratory setting.

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or training program must be from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime.
• Able to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
