Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join our team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL. You will perform venipuncture and capillary collections and provide compassionate patient service.

Schedule: Monday–Friday 2:00pm–10:30pm with rotating Saturdays. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy certification or completed training, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience; 1 year of experience preferred.

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.

• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

LabCorp is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join our team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm and rotating Saturdays

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare and process all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
