We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist for an outpatient hospital role. In this position, you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections, and be the face of the company. Opportunities for continuous growth within the organization will be provided.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with one weekend per month

Work Location: Boston, MA - Tufts Medical Center

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate patient testing needs with medical providers in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Navigate hospital settings to attend to client needs across various suites.
  3. Decipher, collect, and process complex test orders related to hospital outreach.
  4. Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  5. Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  6. Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  7. Address customer service issues promptly and respectfully.
  8. Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory, and logs.
  9. Promote teamwork and effective communication among coworkers.
  10. Accurately and promptly enter patient data.
  11. Work with patients and providers to obtain demographic and billing information; process payments as needed.
  12. Report performance, compliance, or staffing issues to supervisors.
  13. Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least 2 years of experience performing venipunctures as a phlebotomist.
  3. Preferred: AAMA or CMA accreditation, ICD-9 coding familiarity, leadership experience, phlebotomy certification, pediatric and neonatal draws experience.
  4. In-depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties and techniques.
  5. Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Ability to work independently or in a team.
  8. Comfortable working with minimal supervision.
