We are seeking a Phlebotomist for an Out-Patient hospital role, providing excellent customer service, performing specimen collections, and representing the company. Opportunities for growth are available within the organization.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with 1 weekend per month

Work Location: Boston, MA - Tufts Medical Center

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient testing needs with medical providers in a fast-paced environment.
• Navigate hospital settings to attend to client needs across various suites.
• Decipher, collect, and process complex test orders for hospital outreach.
• Perform blood draws via venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Address customer service issues promptly and respectfully.
• Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory, and logs.
• Promote teamwork and effective communication.
• Accurately enter patient data and process payments when needed.
• Report performance, compliance, or staffing issues to supervisors.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of venipuncture experience as a phlebotomist.
• Preferred: AAMA or CMA accreditation, ICD-9 familiarity, leadership experience, phlebotomy certification, pediatric/neonatal draw experience.
• Strong knowledge of phlebotomy duties and techniques.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with minimal supervision.
