Job summary

Cardinal Health is recruiting a per diem Pharmacy Technician to support Health Systems Pharmacy at PAM Specialty Hospital of San Antonio South Campus. The role assists pharmacists in filling prescriptions, prepares medications, inventories, and processes returns, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Weekend Saturday-Sunday 8:00am-2:00pm, with additional weekday coverage 7:30am-4:00pm preferred. The Technician II will enter patient data into the pharmacy system, maintain inventory, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Texas licensed pharmacy technician or ability to obtain licensure.
• IV certification or ability to obtain certification.
• PTCB certification highly preferred.
• In-patient/hospital experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift
• Vendor Credentialing may be required

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
• Prepares medication for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
• Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out of date items from the inventory.
• Enters medical supply orders in pharmacy system.
• Communicates with all customers (patients, clinics, care-givers, physicians) in an amicable and professional manner.
• Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
• Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
• Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
