Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, NY seeks a registered Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist with routine dispensing tasks and patient care activities. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration within a high‑volume hospital setting.

The position is a temporary leave replacement requiring NYS licensure, PTCB/NHA certification, and readiness to rotate shifts. Prior hospital pharmacy experience and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current NYS Registered Pharmacy Technician license and registration.
• PTCB or NHA certification required.

Responsabilités

• Assist pharmacist with routine dispensing activities under supervision.
• Handle technical aspects of drug dispensing with pharmacist review.
• Deliver medications, manage unit dosing, and support IV batching.
• Maintain inventory, restock Omnicells, and conduct cycle counts.
• Ensure proper storage, safe handling of drugs, and cleanliness of work areas.
• Perform clerical tasks and assist in departmental operations as needed.
• Rotate shifts and maintain professional ethics and teamwork.
