Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist in processing physicians' medication orders and prepare IV solutions for patient care under direct supervision. The role requires Maryland Registered Pharmacy Technician status, HS or equivalent, and completion of CPhT within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Maryland Registered Pharmacy Technician required
• CPhT certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• HS or equivalent education

Responsibilities

• Triage telephone calls and window requests
• Operate automation systems (Medtech, AccuDose, DoseEdge, Medex, Pharmacy Keeper)
• Prepare medications for dispensing using automation
• Fill medication orders; notify pharmacist of discrepancies
• Deliver medications as needed during shift
• Replenish dispensing stock and notify purchasing for low stock
• Maintain competency in sterile preparations; perform IV validation annually
• Aseptically prepare sterile products and maintain clean room
• Compound medications and record accordingly
• Complete monthly medication unit inspections by the 20th
• Read emails daily and route documents for timely processing
• Identify issues and take ownership to resolve them
• Perform other assigned tasks
