Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. in Willow Grove, PA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient medication preparation and dispensing under supervision of pharmacists and the Pharmacy Manager.

Responsibilities include filling physician orders, operating Pyxis, sterile compounding, inventory management, billing, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• 1 year sterile compounding experience required.
• Passing score of 90% on calculations, aseptic prep, safe handling of hazardous drugs and practicum.
• CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician to be obtained upon hire.
• RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician in PA upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Interact with coworkers to support Jefferson values.
• Prepare drug orders from physicians for pharmacist review/dispensing.
• Replenish Pyxis machines and monitor refrigerator temps with corrective action.
• Count, compound and repack pharmaceuticals per procedures.
• Dispense medications and manage pharmacy inventory and restocks.
• Document waste and ensure proper billing for medications dispensed.
