Job summary

DMC Harper University Hospital in Detroit is seeking a licensed pharmacist to prepare, package and label IV and unit-dose medications under supervision, following prescriber orders and hospital policies.

Responsibilities include delivering floor stock and patient-specific medications, handling controlled substances with proper inventory and documentation, and supporting charge functions while assisting hospital staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Full pharmacy licensure or temporary licensure with state provision of full licensure within one year.
• Prior pharmacy experience and/or completion of formal pharmacy technician training is preferred.
• Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package and label IV and unit-dose medications under supervision and according to orders and procedures.
• Deliver floor stock medications, patient-specific medications, emergency boxes and crash cart trays to patient care areas.
• Manage medication orders, collect and return orders, process charges and respond to inquiries from hospital staff and customers.
