Job summary

WVU Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician at the Weirton Medical Center campus. Under the pharmacist's supervision, you will transcribe orders, deliver medications, prepare unit-dose packs, and assist with IV mixtures and dispensing workflows to support patient care.

The role requires WV license, national certification, and strong accuracy, communication, and regulatory knowledge to ensure safe, efficient pharmacy operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Pharmacy Technician in West Virginia.
• National certification (PTCB or NHA) preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Fills orders and carts for patient distribution; exchanges meds daily.
• Prepackages unit-dose medications with pharmacist verification.
• Delivers meds and IV solutions to nursing stations and departments.
• Maintains accurate documentation and prepares reports as needed.
• Charges and credits medications timely and tracks controlled substances.
• Ensures pharmacy workroom is clean and properly stocked.
