Job summary

Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, LA is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The Tech assists pharmacists by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use; prepares IV admixture solutions using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow Hood; types labels, prepares and files charge slips and performs other related duties.

Utilizes PYXIS restocking patient areas as well as for inventory management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or the equivalent.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification or licensure in the State of Louisiana.
• One-year related pharmacy experience and/or training or graduate of certified training program/healthcare careers college.
• Hospital experience preferred; retail experience accepted.
• Basic computer knowledge; must be motivated.
• PYXIS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use.
• Mix IV admixture solutions using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow Hood.
• Type labels, prepare and file charge slips and perform other related duties.
• Utilizes PYXIS restocking patient areas as well as for inventory management.
