Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Pharmacy Technician II to assist the Pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care. The role involves technical and clerical duties in the Pharmacy, including IV admixture and sterile product handling where required.

Responsibilities include medication preparation, inventory management, patient liaison, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards within budget and time constraints.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
• Minimum 3 years pharmacy experience, preferably hospital setting.
• Texas Pharmacy Tech registration or Pharmacist intern registration required.
• ACPE IV Certification preferred if compound sterile products.

Responsibilities

• Selects prescribed medications according to dosage and strength indicated on patient medication file or cart-fill list.
• Delivers medications to the patient care areas.
• Stocks and monitors drug inventory levels.
• Inspects and maintains emergency medication trays.
• Packages and labels unit dose forms and maintains pre-pack records.
• Responds to requests for medications from nursing and other departments.
• Documents charges and reviews billing records for accuracy.
• Prepares intravenous antimicrobials, TPN solutions, epidurals and IV antineoplastics.
