Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting. You will perform technical and clerical duties to support patient care and safety.

Qualifications include 18+ years old, HS diploma or GED, Texas Pharmacy Tech registration, and potential IV/sterile certifications. Hospital experience is preferred, with proficiency in medical terminology and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Pharmacy Tech registration or Pharmacist intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.
• ACPE IV Certification with 40-hour IV admixture course preferred.
• Sterile Products Certification required if incumbent compounds sterile products.
• 1–2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsabilités

• Selects prescribed medications according to dosage and strength indicated on patient medication file or cart-fill list.
• Receives merchandise and places into inventory.
• Monitors inventory for out-of-stock or out-of-date items.
• Delivers medications to the patient care areas.
• Inspects and maintains emergency medication trays.
• Packages and labels unit dose forms and maintains pre-pack records.
• Loads drugs into automated drug dispensing system (PYXIS).
• Maintains inventory for non-automated patient care areas.
• Responds to medication requests from nursing personnel and other departments.
• Follows safety checks to ensure medications comply with technology standards.
• Prepares sterile products aseptically when required.
• Attends to customers as liaison and gathers medication history.
• Manages pharmaceutical waste and credits returned medications.
