Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists in delivering pharmaceutical care across hospital locations. The role requires IV certification capability and strong focus on accurate medication preparation and patient safety.

Responsibilities include unit-dose distribution, inventory control, sterile product preparation where required, and collaboration with nursing teams to ensure timely medication delivery.

Competenze

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Current Pharmacy Tech registration or Pharmacist intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required; ACPE IV Certification 40-hour course preferred.
• Pharmacy Sterile Product certification required if incumbent compounds sterile products.
• Three years of pharmacy experience required, preferably hospital; grandfathered if hired before Jan 28, 2022 with 2 years.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Select prescribed medications according to dosage and strength; deliver to patient care areas.
• Stocks and monitors drug inventory levels; ensure adequate supplies.
• Inspects and maintains emergency medication trays.
• Packages and labels unit dose oral liquids/tablets; maintain pre-pack records.
• Responds to oral medication requests from nursing and other departments.
• Posts and codes patient pharmaceutical charges; reviews billing records for accuracy.
• Prepares IV antimicrobials, large volume parenterals, TPN solutions, epidurals and IV antineoplastics.
• Documents Quality Improvement activities for the I.V. Room; aseptic technique, hood cleaning, refrigeration temp log.
• Follows processes to ensure medications are compliant with safety checks; prepares sterile products as needed.
• Attends to customers as liaison and gathers medication history when applicable.
• Manages pharmaceutical waste; adheres to Memorial Hermann policies and standards.
• Supports department goals, participates in education and mentoring as needed.
• Demonstrates compassionate, personalized care aligned with service standards.
