Atrium Health Lake Norman Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications. The role involves labeling, inventory tasks, and ensuring compliance with USP standards and safety policies.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED; CPhT or ExCPT certification within 18 months and hospital experience are preferred. Shifts include rotating weekends and holidays with a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy where employed.
• Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or National Healthcareer Association (ExCPT) within 18 months of start date.
• Hospital pharmacy experience and CPhT certification are preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Accurately selects, prepares, and labels medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks.
• Screens calls and routes them using proper etiquette.
• Assists in daily pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Completes documentation for removal, stocking, and disposal of controlled substances.
• Performs nonsterile compounding following USP standards; sterile IV admixture when applicable.
• Inspects storage areas for policy adherence and conducts patient medication histories as applicable.
• Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and training of pharmacy technicians as needed.
